Digital Barcode Files News
Digital Bar Code Files could eventually evolve into “bokodes” according to MIT Scientists.
Developed by MIT and touted as the next barcode, the so-called “bokode” can supposedly hold thousands of times of data as a traditional barcode. Consisting of a 3 millimeter LAD that’s covered by a mask and a lense. It can also be read by mobile phones. Of course, at this early stage of development, they’re still very expensive to produce, at around $5 each according to digitaltrends.com.
Scientists at MIT do believe that if the technology could be improved the price would drop dramatically, down to as much as 5 cents per barcode. Like other forms of digital storage, traditional digital barcode files are evolving to hold exponentially more information.
